The art that came after the war is still popular today, even one piece becoming our national anthem. In addition, after the war many authors were inspired to create works that reflected America. Some notable names that rose after the war include William Cullen Bryant,Washington Irving, James Fenimore Cooper, and Edgar Allan Poe. More painters began painting works that reflected American landscapes. The Star Spangled Banner or more modern songs such as “Battle of New Orleans,” also were a product of the war. We can also credit the building of a more elaborate capital to the war. The United States stopped relying on militia for defence. By the Civil War, there were professional armies who received regular pay, who were extensively trained, and had officers promoted on merit rather than connections. These products are among the ranks of products from any other war we have fought. However, it’s these products that help guide the republic into what it is
