Tutankhamun has created one of the most memorable stories of history in the ancient Egyptian history. Tutankhamen, one of the king of Egypt who had the smallest reign and his death tomb, was discovered late in 1922 by a historian Howard Carter. He started his leadership role as the king of Egypt with the name Tutankhaten which is thought to mean “Living Image of the Aten” and he changed it to Tutankhamun when he relocated to Thebes after abandoning Akhenaten. It is believed Tutankhamun was the son of Amenhotep IV as the dad and Queen Kiya one of the minor wives of his father. His mother was given the title “Greatly Beloved Wife of Akhenaten” because she is the woman who gave the reigning king an heir i.e. Tutankhamun. As the King, he married …show more content…
However, some items had been stolen. The tomb had sixteen steps descending to the lower sealed and plastered doorway that was believed to own the possession of the Curse of Tutankhamun. After the doorway, there was a corridor that led to the different parts of the tomb of the burial chamber, Antechamber, Treasury, and the Annex. After the entry into the tomb, the scientists discovered the burial wall was beautified with golden background and decorated with scenes of the Opening of the Mouth ritual. It also had paintings of the Amduat i.e. The Book of the Dead it also illustrated scenarios of Tutankhamun with the old gods. The west wall contained the apes of the hour of the Amduat, on the north wall there is a drawing of the king with the goddess named Nut and the Royal Ka Embraces of Osiris. Among other discoveries was a depiction of Ay wearing the blue war crown showing that Vizier took up the kingship after the death of Tutankhamun? On the south wall, it shows the King with Anubis and Harthor and further illustrates Isis, Hathor and Anubis welcoming Tutankhamun to the world of the dead. On the top, there was a show of the resting place of the King and was drawn with the wings of the goddess

In the first two tombs, the emperor took a whole political system with him, and because of the various types of sculptures he brought, it's believed that he was imitating the real organization of the Qin dynasty that he created. Also recovered were battle axes, crossbows, arrowheads, and spears. A suggested protective function became known by those who excavated the tomb because some of the clay warriors held actual bronze and iron weapons; therefore the meaning of protection goes beyond symbolic and functional. Additional weapon assemblage included crossbow triggers, swords, lances, spears, halberds, and hooks, which were used as ceremonial weapons. Lances and halberds bore long sentence inscriptions which were believed to be inscriptions of the master potters who made the art, while the swords, triggers, hooks, and ferrules were only partially marked with numbers so proper placement of the weapons could be assigned. These weapons were extremely well preserved due to protective chrome plating found on 40,000 bronze arrowheads that were also recovered. Contained in the 3rd tomb were the high-ranking officials, chariots, and bronze carriages fitted with silver and gold. The final pit was left unfinished which is why it's suggested that the burial pit was never…

Tausert was one of the few queens who ruled Egypt as pharaoh. She was the second wife of Seti II. It was Seti II that ordered her tomb to be built. This was an honor given to very few queens. She was the last ruler of Dynasty 19. Her tomb was cut into the base of a sheer cliff at the head of the southwestern branch of the Valley of the Kings. As the tomb was being built, she became the co-regent of Siptah. Later she ascended to the thrown of Egypt as Pharaoh. These changed titles are all reflected on the changing design and decoration of her tomb, which has been designated KV 14. Tausert’s successor, Setnakht, died unexpectedly. Setnakht’s original tomb was unfinished at the time of his death, but records show that there was still plenty of time to finish it before his burial. Apparently his son, Ramesses III, went against his father’s wishes and decided to bury him in the tomb of Tausert. It was then that KV 14 was remodeled as Setnakht’s burial tomb. The scenes of Tausert on the walls were plastered over and replaced with figures and names of Setnakht. The plaster has fallen away in some parts of the tomb, exposing parts of the earlier scenes that were originally there. Throughout the tomb’s first three corridors, there are holes cut into the walls. These holes held beams attached to ropes to control the descent of the royal sarcophagus when it was lowered into the tomb.…
