Problem 1 (to be done by TA) – cantilever under 5 kN point load at end, and 3 kN‐m moment at midspan. Appendix A has the calculations for doing the shear and bending moment diagrams the “old fashioned” (and much slower) way.

Bearings are self‐aligning, so they only create reaction forces.
