The researcher adjusted the compass six centimeters apart and placed the points on the neck. Participant one indicated there were two points at the adjusted six centimeters. The researcher began to move the points closer together. Participant one perceived the change from two points to one at approximately four centimeters.
Participant #2: Initially, the experimenter placed the compass points with one on the tip of the index finger with the other point at the edge of the palm near the thumb.
