Two Sides: A Narrative Fiction
“ He has no mother. He has no skates.” Well, I was shocked by what I heard. Well, why do you want to know, Miss Clark told me not to sound rude or anything she told me. Well I said, Jerry told me he has a mother. I wonder to myself why would he lie to me, I thought to myself. So, she wanted to have an answer to why would he lie to her so, she went to look for him that chilly afternoon. You can feel your face turn red of the coldness. She still headed out even if it meant going out there in the cold, but she didn't care she had to go look for Jerry even if it meant searching all day and night. So, she put on her jacket to go search for him.

She went to look for Jerry all that afternoon that seemed like forever until she spotted him. However, Jerry was there, sitting on a rock that seemed pretty big and round to me he was there throwing rocks at the lake that sparkled like crystals. She wonders to herself. My political viewpoint has changed dramatically since I was first introduced to politics. I come from a democratic family, where it is strongly believed that it is the government’s responsibility to care for all people and that the government knows what is best for all people. Every voting season, my parents vote for a democratic president and explain to me the reasoning behind their decision. It was not until I was in the tenth grade that I realized that I did not hold the same political beliefs as my parents. After taking several political quizzes and extensively researching the bevy of political parties, I now know that I am an independent. What is an independent? An independent is an individual politician not affiliated to any political…

Fayden walked down the street in the early morning, sure he should have waited for someone to go with him but he wanted to be alone. He needed time to think, and come to terms with the loss of his family. He knew that his town would treat him differently now but he wouldn't leave it... That town was all Fay knew and it made the eighteen year old boy sad that he really hadn't gone anywhere in his life except to the big city a few times with his father. He slipped under the fences and over the walls as he made his way to the frozen pond. His sea green eyes looked at the layer of ice and smiled running his hand over it and then tapping it listening to hear if it would keep him up. He decided to attempt this since it had been a few weeks since the tragic…

He returned to the calm, cold ranch and quietly entered the workers bunkhouse. The men all lay in a deep slumber from the hard days work. George sat down on his damp bunk and stared at Lennies old, deckendant bunk. George was angry, he believed that Curley had defeated his intelligence and won. He turned to the white-washed wall on his bunk and his mind started to project memories of the times him and Lennie had shared in the past. A tear trickled down his cheek as the picture of Lennie face after he had dropped to the floor was replaying over and over again in his mind. He tossed and turned uncomfortably on his bunk going through all the options he had and how he came to the dyer end that it did.…

When I was much younger, I had the opportunity to live in rural Georgia. While living there I had the assumption, since I had medical insurance everyone else does too. During this time I made some friends of which I had learned their family did not have health insurance. This raised my awareness of various topics. The first was not everyone is the same and not everyone has what you have. Looking back after reading and the live classroom, I realize having health insurance was a privilege, and in my case could be considered an unearned privilege. This is due to the fact my health insurance, which was earned by my father who was serving in the US Air Force, was given to me because I was his dependent. Listening to the live classroom, I came across some similarities as my classmates.…

I remember the first time I saw Gene. I had just arrived in South Carolina after moving from New Jersey when my dad was offered a promotion. It was a rainy day, I spent most of it driving, trying to figure out my way around town. For lunch, I stopped at some sort of pub that’s been closed down for years now. When I walked in, it was completely empty except for one boy sitting at the counter all alone. I sat on a barstool, a few down from the boy and ordered a cheeseburger. Trying to remember which road I took to get there, I realized I had no idea how to get back home and the boy spoke.…
