At the start of the script, Colin is quite infantile along with, immature. He is very envious since, Luke receives what he desires however, Colin doesn’t.

When Luke faints, Colin is still irritated with him and, denies the fact it will be serious. When they’re in the hospital, he accuses Luke for faking his illness however, Luke is diagnosed with: Cancer. At this stage of the story, Colin is quite acquisitive because, he is interested in only what money brings him (the microscope) and, seems to only care for himself.
‘Colin: Hey there aren’t any germs. You’re a faker. There’s nuthin’ wrong with you. Not a single germ.’
In the middle of the story, Colin is sent away to: England as, his parent’s think it would be best to perform that action so, Colin can relax along with, clear his mind.
‘We’re not going to make you go. But, we’d like you to. For your sake and for ours.’
When Colin’s parents break it to him, Colin volunteers to help. This shows that he was determined to assist Luke meaning, he could stay in: Australia. Additionally, the text states that Colin was desperate to stay in: Australia as, he wanted to participate in cricket
