Hello family and loved ones of Tybalt. You all know me as Lady Capulet. In our family, Tybalt was a cousin, a nephew, my nephew, a husband, and also the most recent death in the family. I know this is a sad day as one of the strongest Capulets has been killed. We are gathered here today to celebrate his life and death and to also clear up for some people what actually happened the night he so sadly died. The night he was murdered was the saddest deaths we have had in a long time. That night, he was looking for Romeo, a Montague, who is the foil in this story. Tybalt was upset that Romeo had crashed the Capulet party we threw not long ago, so he went to confront him. While looking, he stumbled upon Benvolio and Mercutio, Montagues who we all

People may think that Tybalt is to blame because he got into a fight with Romeo ultimately causing Romeo to be banished. Tybalt did actively and willingly go to battle with Romeo in the streets. He also did kill Mercutio and caused Romeo to seek revenge for his friend. However, Tybalt attacked Romeo because he was raised to hate the Montagues. All that Tybalt knew was his family's hatred for the Montagues. Due to this, Tybalt got into a fight with Romeo, causing Romeo to get banished, and ultimately causing Romeo and Juliet to kill themselves in the end. In the play when Romeo comes to the Capulets's party, Tybalt says, "This, by his voice, should be a Montague." Quoted from pg. 1014. Tybalt said this because he gets angered that Romeo has snuck into the party unannounced. This causes Tybalt to grow even more of a hatred to Romeo specifically. Due to Romeo coming to the party without being invited and just for being a Montague, Tybalt's instincts tell him to fight Romeo. Were it not for the family feud, Tybalt would have little to no reason to hate Romeo, causing him to do battle with Romeo, ultimately causing Romeo and Juliet's deaths. Tybalt is not a major factor into the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. His hatred for Romeo and the Montagues was taught and grown into him, and due to the secrecy of Romeo, he felt offended by the uninvited Romeo to the Capulet…

I am Tybalt, a Capulet and cousin of Juliet. I am known as short-tempered, impulsive, and a vengeful person, I draw my sword anytime I can. However I am loyal beyond words and honour the family rivalry between the Capulets and the Montagues with great heart. I will never betray the Capulets. On the day of Capulets’ party Romeo showed up. I recognised Romeo through his disguise at the Capulets’ ball. I can’t remember that we invited him to our party. Why is Romeo here? What is his intention of showing up at my Uncle Capulet’s ball? He is a Montague and I loathe all the Montague because they are our enemy. He is not allowed to come to our party. I would have killed him or make him leave the ball immediately if not forbidden by my uncle. He stopped me because he didn’t want to make a scene at the party. I could have choose to disobey my uncle but if I do that he will be mad at me so I have no choice but listened to my uncle. However I won’t let him live so easily I will make his life miserable. I will take revenge on him next time I meet him. Therefore I have a plan, I will fight Romeo at the city centre but I will be banished if I start a fight with him. In that case I will provoke Romeo at the city centre of Verona so he will start a fight with me. When the prince found out that Romeo starts a fight with me he will banish Romeo from Verona forever instead of me. I sent a challenge letter to Romeo for a duel to the death and vowed to meet him later on. I didn’t know if Romeo will show up but I went off to look for him after the masked ball. Instead of finding Romeo I found his friends, Benvolio and Mercutio. After Romeo arrived, I confronted him to fight with me, but he refused. But his friend Mercutio winded me up after that so I started a fight with him. Romeo tries to stop us, but I stab Mercutio. I ran away after I stabbed Mercutio but I still have my sight set on killing…

Once Tybalt encountered Romeo, he insults him and labels him a “villain.” Due to Romeo’s refusal to fight, Mercutio steps in and fights Tybalt. Tybalt stabs Mercutio and fatally wounds him. This event provoked Romeo into slaying Tybalt for vengeance on behalf of Mercutio.
