· TYPES OF STATE AND INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS
STATE SCHOOLS:- State schools are owned by government and its free.These schools are inspected by Ofsted. There are some types of state schools.
1.NURSERY SCHOOLS:- This is early age of education Year 3 to 4.These schools are owned by Local Authority and funded by government.These schools are inspected by Ofsted.For example lea nursery. 2.PRIMARY SCHOOLS:- These schools are run by government and providing education from age 4 to 11.This is Ist key stage and compulsory.every children have to attend primary school. These schools are inspected by Ofsted.for example Wexham court school and willow school.
3.SECONDARY AND GRAMMAR SCHOOLS:- These schools are from age 11 to 16 and covers key stage 3&4.These schools are run by government.After 16 it's option to attend further education.after secondary or grammar school students get result of GCSE OR A LEVEL.At 11 student are taken test if they pass then they attend grammar school.these schools are inspected by Ofsted.eg Slough Grammar School and Langley Grammar School.
4.FE COLLEGE:- Further education is not necessary.It's starts at the age of 16 to 19.students can choose any course.they can go in any feild.These colleges funded by government and inspected by Ofsted.for example East Berkshire College and Reading College.
FREE SCHOOLS:- These schools are funded by government but not run by local authority.These schools covers key stage 1,2,3 &4.These schools are normally new and set up by teachers or charities.These schools are semi state independent .For example All
