Typhoons are terrible natural disaster that brings storm and damage peoples’ property. It’s a tropical cyclone that develops in the western part of North Pacific Ocean , generated on the sea. Maximum sustained winds are more than 32.6 meters per second near the typhoon center. As in the Atlantic or eastern North Pacific occurs, to achieve the same intensity of tropical cyclones, it is called a hurricane. Every year there are 80-100 typhoons in the world, and they have a huge impact on human life. An average of about 15,000 to 2 million people die each year from among the typhoon disaster, property losses amounted to 6-70 billion. Since 1990, China’s loss nearly 26 billion yuan, 400 people die each year in the typhoon. Typhoon produce suddenly,damage strongly, it move fast and random. Maybe it move to east in the morning, but 2 hours later, it will move to west. So before the Meteorological satellite was invented, people is difficult to catch the track of typhoon.
Typhoons always bring strong winds, 10 level wind can pull up a big tree, but typhoon wind is 12 level. Winds of level 12 can destroy many things, such as overturn ten thousand tons freighters, destroy the buildings, damage communication and electricity facilities. People can not use cellphone, telephone, internet during the super typhoon.The strong wind blows debris into the sky, outdoor environment become dangerous. This shows typhoon with strong wind has powerful damage.
Typhoon is a very strong rainfall system. It rains heavily 100-300mm of rainfall center even up to 500-800mm one day in each typhoon. The rainstorm led to flood that the farm and the villages immerse into the water. Once the farm immersing in the flood, crops will be rot and the farmer have no harvest. So the heavy rain make farmers confuse.
