T-Rex

T-rex name have you wonder where their name came from well wonder no longer. T-Rex came from a Latin word meaning “king” and Tyrannosaurus comes from a Greek word meaning ‘tyrant lizard’(science kids). The person that named the T-rex was Henry Fairfield Osborn(enchanted learning). Tyrannosaurus’ comes from the Greek words meaning ‘tyrant lizard’, while the word ‘rex’ means ‘king’ in Latin(science kids). Do you know the year when the T-rex got named was 1905(enchanted learning).

Tyrannosaurus Rex was 12 metres (40 feet) in length and weighed 5 tons. Their heads were over 4 feet (1.25 metres), with very powerful jaws(Kids-dinosaurs). There a lot of different measurements for the T-rex so to me there are different sized T-rex out there.
T-rex was a huge carnivore and primarily ate herbivorous dinosaurs, including Edmontosaurus and Triceratops(live science). Tyrannosaurus Rex are meat eaters, they probably hunted Hadrosaurs and Triceratops(Kids dinosaurs).They would have also scavenged - stealing meals from smaller predators(kids dinosaurs). There was also proof they would fight their own kind.

Now where they lived to be honest, they lived all over the earth, but there certain spots where they were. Fossil hunter Barnum Brown discovered the first partial skeleton of a T. rex in the Montana portion of the Hell Creek Formation in 1902(livescience). Scientists have recently discovered a hip bone belonging to an ancestor of Tyrannosaurus Rex(Kids dinosaurs). They found it at Dinosaur Cove in Victoria, Australia. Tyrannosaurus Rex lived in an area of the Earth that now makes up western North America(science kids).

Now there behavior is hard to track because they aren’t around us so we had to go off of what we could get. There is evidence that T. rex may have fought one another! Sue (the recently auctioned T. rex skeleton that was found in South Dakota, USA in 1990) had evidence of healing facial wounds that were probably bitten from another T.
