Every Library serves a particular audience. A university library’s main audience is its students and faculty members, and accordingly the University College London-Qatar (UCL-Q) library reflects the identity of the institution it was created for. As UCL-Q offers only heritage and culture degrees, the books within the library are predominantly on the subject of heritage and culture.

However, if that proves to be too expensive and a waste of funds, placing stickers of Arabic letter corresponding to its key would be a cheaper solution. This task can be easily accomplished by a student volunteer. Thus ensuring that the library staff are not wasting time with this task, and are available to assist UCL-Q students and faculty with their library needs.
2. Tables and Chairs
UCL-Q library has three seating areas, for book browsing. Each cluster is made-up of three chairs and one small table in the centre. The chairs are a modern design with a long curved back, which make them more suitable for lounging then serious reading. Furthermore, these little seating areas are placed in corners and turns making the already small space tighter.
Possible solution
Replacing the current tables and chairs with chairs with built in arm desk. This will make it easier for students and faculty to use the seating areas with comfort; additionally, it will solve the spacing issue, because the design of the chairs will not take up as much space. Furthermore, by establishing an appointment system UCL-Q students and researchers can come into the library comfortable in the knowledge that the reference librarian will be available to assist them. Another solution is to create an online request system whereby students and researchers can place their requests online and receive assistance virtually. Hunting for reference librarians is a tiresome task, however these solution, will save UCL-Q students and researchers’ valuable time and
