AGENCY DESCRIPTION:
The UHI Community Care Clinic provides free primary health care to low-income, uninsured residents of South Florida the past 10 years they are located in Miami Gardens. Although, the clinic is located in Miami Gardens patient come as far as Orlando for health care services. Services are available in various languages such as English, Spanish, Creole, and Dutch. The agency offers primary care and will make every effort to provide all other services that patients may require if the service is not available the staff will try to provide other alternatives. Although, the clinic only offers free medical care to the community. However, all new and existing clients is required to verify their income, residence, or U.S. citizenship at any time while they are a patient.
Therefore, all prospective patients must meet the requirement to become a patient of the UHI Community Care Clinic. The UHI Community Care Clinic does not provide emergency medical care considering, most of their staff are volunteering their time this includes physicians, nurses, medical assistants and clerks. The UHI Community Care Clinic does not have emergency equipment to provide serve. The physicians will determine the health issues, and if the patients need is beyond the scope of what the UHI can safely provide they will recommend another clinic or facility that best suits the patient needs, Mrs. Louis
