Uc App Essay Prompt 1

Prompt One The world I come from is a lot of things. A couple of words come to mind when I think of it, such as vast, diverse, ever changing, and complex. Out of the whole list of words that describe my world, two stick out more than the others: caring and supportive. It seems that every person in my life wants to be successful, and they will do everything in their power to make it so. From the time that I was in kindergarten, my dad put me into numerous organized sports to teach me leadership, teamwork, work ethic, but most importantly to enjoy what I'm doing. I played all the major sports, hockey, basketball, baseball, soccer, and football, and the assortment of those sports taught me to be versatile and how to face diversity. With all that said I guess you could say that in a way my world has revolved around sports, but in spite of that I don't consider myself a "jock." Along with all the physical work I was also taught to appreciate academics, and throughout most of my life I have stayed true to that aspect. My teachers were definitely a big influence in my life, because they shared the love they showed for education with me and taught me to love it as well. I love to learn, as quirky as that sounds. My goal is to reach a higher plane of thought. I want to know EVERYTHING. Everything might be a tad overextension of my goals, but I really do want to be what I consider a modern renaissance man. I want to understand math, and science, and philosophy, and art, and literature. I want to compose music and write books about physics, and then go home and paint canvases. It may seem a little overwhelming but that is my dream. My world shaped my dream by not interfering with it. I am able to do what I want today because of the support it has given me to follow any path that I choose. My teachers opened my mind to all the different fields that I love today, and thus made me face an extremely difficult decision: which major do I choose? I asked my teachers, my councilor,
