1.0 Abstract
This report will show the rate of teenage pregnancy in different parts of the UK and it will also highlight the teenage pregnancy rate in the UK in comparison with other European countries.
2.0 Introduction
This report will represent the teenage pregnancy rate in UK, which is one of the biggest issues in UK for many years. The UK supplies young people with free NHS advice and help which also includes free contraception, to help young people protect themselves from early pregnancy. I think that teenage pregnancies highlights big problems which are caused by that not only the country but also communities. After a young person becomes pregnant they have a very small chance to finish their education in order to get a good job and good salary. As they don’t finish their education and usually leave school without any qualifications it becomes increasingly difficult for them to find a job which will be able to provide a comfortable life for young mum. Moreover this is causing trouble for the country as more young mothers are trying to get help from the council in the way of benefits and council housing. However it is not an easy task to provide all young mothers with a house and money for their living, as there is simply not enough housing for the growing number of teenage and young mothers. There is a long waiting list for the housing, and usually it is based on necessity. For example, if you have more children and there is not currently enough space where you are living then you move higher up the list as it is

Teenage Pregnancy is defined as conceptions which include those that lead onto a live birth and terminations in the under 18 age group. Teenage pregnancy generally creates inequalities in health, and usually leads to poor long term outcomes for both parents and their children according to the Department of Health (DH, 2013). Teenage Pregnancy falls into the category of a vulnerable group. A vulnerable group can be defined as those that experience a higher risk of poverty and social exclusion than the general population (European Commission, 2009). In 2001, the government as part of the Teenage Pregnancy Strategy launched the Surestart Plus pilot programme which would provide funding in 20 areas that had the highest rate of teenage pregnancy. The aim of the pilot scheme was to work with this vulnerable group to tackle the reasons why they have poorer health and social outcomes, and to offer better antenatal and postnatal care to these mothers, and to offer opportunities in education and training so as to increase their chances of a better outcome in life. The aim of this piece of work is to focus on what makes teenage pregnancy fall into the category of a vulnerable group, how social and economic factors determine a vulnerable group, and examine the impact that Sure Start Plus has had on teenage pregnancy. As midwifes have been heavily involved with the scheme, it is important to delve into the role that the midwife has played in the project in order to assess whether or not the project was successful as a public health initiative which incorporates the principles of participation, collaboration and equity.…

Teen pregnancy is closely linked to a host of other critical social issues — poverty and income, overall child well-being, out-of-wedlock births, responsible fatherhood, health issues, education, child welfare, and other risky behavior. There are also substantial public costs associated with adolescent childbearing. Consequently, teen pregnancy should be viewed not only as a reproductive health issue, but as one that works to improve all of these measures. Simply put, if more children in this country were born to parents who are ready and able to care for them, we would see a significant reduction in a host of social problems afflicting children in the United States, from school failure and crime to child abuse and neglect. While there are a number of vulnerable populations in the world, very few receive the publicity, funding, and assistance that they need to survive in today’s society. There is a vast amount of media coverage on the elderly population and homeless children. However, most vulnerable populations are not recognized and assisted due to personal biases or a lack of education regarding their situations. Teenage mothers are one such vulnerable population. The general public is usually biased against teenage mothers and feels that they are responsible for their situation. Because of this belief, they are often shunned by society and thought to be uneducated and promiscuous. In fact, most teen mothers become pregnant due to a lack of education about sex and contraception, particularly within their home environment. “Too often the problem can be traced to the failure of society’s adults to take responsibility for the safety of its children.” (Stepp, 2008)…

I recently read a newspaper article about “Job” the news article was about good and evil of man. The author Salley Vickers(2010) stated that the Bible “combines lyrical beauty with a modern nihilism.” In the story of Job, there is conversation going on between the Lord and Satan. The Lord asks Satan where he was going and he says to and fore seeing who I can devour. The Lord asks Satan had he consider his servant Job. Job was a good man never did anything evil. Satan told the Lord if he would take the fence from around him that he could make him sin. The Lord agreed to take the protection form around Job. Job suffers a great many mishaps he loses his wealth, children all die and body become cover in sores. His friends accuse Job of sinning because he was in God favor and now is suffering. The irony of this story is that Job never sin and he was a good man. I would say that the good that Job receives was through the Lord which reflected on to him making him a good person through God giving. But the evil that was reflected on him was by Satan. Sometimes I think that people are either good or evil it is the circumstances surrounding them in which they can appear good or…

Teen pregnancy is a very serious social problem that has a large impact on society. The National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy (NCPTP) has established connections between early pregnancy and childbearing to a number of other serious social issues, for instance health, education and poverty ("Unplanned pregnancy, sexual," 2012). The NCPTP reports that between the years 1990 and 2008 “The teen pregnancy rate has declined an impressive 42%” ("Unplanned pregnancy, sexual," 2012). The Guttmacher Institute offers some explanation of this decline citing “changes in sexual behavior, fear of HIV, changing attitudes about sexuality, increased availability of new…
