Ukulele Essay
The Ukulele has gained popularity over the years with more and more people buying a ukulele due to it being a good beginner instrument for people who are beginning to play instruments. Due to looking at responses that people had after purchasing and playing the ukulele i can say that the ukulele is a perfect starter instrument for all ages due to its: Price and it’s simplicity.
The ukulele price is extremely cheap then to other instruments. Instruments like the piano,guitar, drums,etc are more than 100 dollars while the ukulele is around 40-60 dollars which in my opinion is a very good price. A majority of ukuleles come with a warranty so in case anything happens such as something happens with the ukulele itself or something breaks it, it’ll be covered. The ukulele price is one of the major reasons to why people choose the ukulele over anything else since there really isn’t any other professional sounding instrument for that low of a price. The ukuleles simplicity is also a favorite of many people due to the ukulele only having 4 strings. It lets people who had trouble with playing a guitar or a stringed instrument play it more with ease due to it not having 6 string like a regular guitar. smaller than regular guitars which makes it much easier for people with smaller hands to play it more with ease. Furthermore, due to its size the ukulele will be extremely lightweight to which you can practically take it wherever you go.
While there are many good reasons to why the ukulele is great beginners instrument there are also some factors that make the ukulele not so great for a beginner.
A major issue that many people have with the ukulele is its popularity and requests.In the past couple of years the ukulele has grown in popularity with all ages. However, due to it being so simple to play some fear it’ll take away the novelty and joy from the ukulele. Sort of like a song that's repeated over and over again. Then there are requests. A majority of ukulele players are always asked to play hit songs like "Vance Joy-Riptide" or "Somewhere over the rainbow" and many others. Which could tire out players and make them lose interest in the
instrument.
In Conclusion, The Ukulele has good and bad qualities. From the good qualities being its low price from 40-60 dollars along with its simplicity to be able to master it within weeks to months with a vast majority of songs that you can learn immediately. To it’s bad qualities such as the overwhelming popularity if the instrument to the point where it can make it no longer fun to play and the overwhelming requests of songs that could tire out the players of the instrument. However, even with the bad qualities of the instrument i still believe that the ukulele is a great instrument for beginners. Its price is reasonable and it’s a simple instrument i believe anyone could pick up.
