Unavoidable--Poverty

In these ten years, economic are growing rapidly among the world. The living standard of people is becoming much higher. However, the problem of poverty is also worsening simultaneously. A survey on 2008 conducted by the World Bank revealed that nearly 1.3 billion people are named as absolutely poverty, which is stated as “a condition characterized by severe deprivation of basic human needs, including food, safe drinking water, sanitation facilities, health, shelter, education and information. The World Bank defined the new international poverty line as $1.25 a day for 2005.” (Wikipedia) As more people are being affected, the reasons deep down should be thoroughly investigated. When it comes to inculcating the sense of poverty, the living environment is inevitable, thus family aspect is always the first blame. In the culture of poverty, it is passed from generation to generation generally. For the innate factor, some genes can be hereditary. For instance, their family members are not good at studying, it is hard for them to score a high marks in the exam previously since their genes are not intelligent to study. For the postnatal factor, their lifestyle can be affected by the living environment. For example, when you were born in a poor family, you are used to tighten your belt in order to help your family to save money. They are lack of family support to launch a career. Alongside with the family aspect, individual attitude should also be put the blame on this issue. As the poor people are used to be poor, they are prefer to live for the moment and would not fight for the future so as to improve their living condition. Besides, they are characterized as self- defeating person. Most of them are passive, hopeless and having a negative thought. They usually think that they can do nothing to change their economic outcome. They are lack of ambition to strive for themselves. Furthermore, society plays a major part in breeding this phenomenon. Disappointedly, with the growth of economic, the gap between the rich and the poor is widening. Since the people with larger power are the richest one usually, the underprivileged group is used to be exploited for the sake of gaining maximum profit. In this jungle environment, the sovereignty power is controlled by the upper class. Even though the government implements the policies apparently, most of the policies are only benefitial to the upper class. There is lack of chances for the lower class upward mobility. Based on the above mentioned, the roots of poverty are accumulated from the past history and the society. The situation cannot be improved in a short time, consequently, there are an array of influences have given rise to the social problem. To commence with, when children grow up in poverty, they have to suffer various health problem. They are usually undernutrition inside the embryo because their mother absorbs insufficient nutrition. Thus, they have low-birth weight, which is associated with a great deal of avertable mental and physical disabilities like impaired vision and hearing, chronic illness etc. What’s more, many infants may even die when they are just born. This leads to the addition of financial burden of the family and the raise of the death rate in the city. Not only is the health problem of children being affected, but the education of children is also being influenced. Saving unnecessary expenses, student tends to use old textbooks or even borrow textbooks from schoolmates. They cannot use their own book to have revision for tests or exam that is hard for them to get a good result. Also, for the purpose of helping make end meets, some of the children may drop out of school to work for the family. Consequently, they do not have full education to enrich themselves. In addition, the stabilities of the society will be disrupted. Because of the uneven distribution, the underprivileged group has limited resources to survive as they only earn a little. As they are lack of education and working skill to improve their living situation, they would like to use some illegal method to satisfy their demands such as pilferage and kidnap. As a result, criminal cases will be increased and this leads to an unpeaceful and unstable society with a spate of crime. In the nutshell, the problem of poverty is inevitable and the reasons behind poverty are passed on from generation to generation. Yet, the government cannot just adopt a nonchalance attitude towards this issue and foster the exploitation behavior by the wealth people continuously. The government should implement more policies to help the needy so as to improve their living condition.

Poverty can be defined by the necessities and amenities that one does not have in their life. Due to the expectations created by our society, we have a tendency to judge others based on the clothes they wear or the cars they drive, and we automatically assume that those who cannot afford these luxuries are either uneducated, unskilled or a combination of both. We completely disregard the fact that not all people have control of their financial stability and that anything can damage their current state of wealth. Even the wealthiest of families can find themselves making their way to the bottom due to an unfortunate tragedy such as a death in the family or being laid off from a job, both of which are aspects that cannot be predicted or prevented, and the only thing families can do is accept it. The American Myth claims that someone from the humblest of beginnings can achieve success, but this statement could not be more false. Although a major cause of poverty is financial trouble, a key component that factors in is how the past affects the future. Those who come from troubled beginnings often lead a life of poor behavior and bad decision making skills. Some even work their lives away and still continue to struggle financially, mainly because they had no foundation to build upon due to the fact that they had to start from the absolute bottom.…

Poverty is a complicated issue. It is a phenomenon not limited to the third world. It’s an issue even faced by the wealthiest countries. There are many reasons and causes, and there are equally as many disagreements on where the blame should lay. People who are not poor often blame the less fortunate for their own situation and tend to have little sympathy. Those who are in poverty often blame society for making it impossible to escape from their situation. Poverty also tends to affect groups within society differently. One of the main divides is gender based where women are more likely to find themselves falling within the lower levels and in greater numbers into poverty. Regardless of the causes and who is to blame, this is an issue that…

The United States populates over 325 million people. Of these 325 million, 13.5 percent of them are under the poverty threshold, which is about 42.3 million people. These people are lacking of basic requirements for living such as money, clothes, a home, food, and even education. Without their basic requirements for living it makes it harder for them to get out of their current situation. Even though the government have tried to step in and solve this problem, the government programs that are set up are not enough. There should be more solutions to poverty, because without the help of others most families have trouble with their living condition, the negative views on the people that are in need , and the destiny that awaits for those suffering…

In comparison to the other beliefs, sociologists take a structural view, seeing poverty as rooted in the structural form and not in the morals and behaviors of individuals. From the sociological point of view, the causes of poverty lie in the economic and social transformations taking place in society itself. Some of the basic challenges poor people face including hunger, medical issues, educational barriers and the places where they dwell may be known for having dangerous diseases, etc. They are undeveloped and lack important essentials to get through the struggles of life. The elderly people who are also poor have it even harder, taking into consideration the difficulty they already endure by being an aged person.…
