Train for the next Olympics! But the training was cut short, the 1940 Olympics where canceled due to the start of the infamous WWII. At the start of the war Louie enlist in the army air corps and becomes a bombardier (or man who drops and aims bombs) in the plane named Superman. Getting pretty far into his tour on duty Louie meets his best friend Phil the pilot of superman. One day while on a flight Louie and Phil had to switch planes (due to damage) and take the Green Hornet a plane known for malfunctions and breakdowns. The inevitable happens and the plane crashes in the middle of the pacific. The only survivors Louie, Phil, and Mac another one of Louie’s crew mates. Stranded on their life raft forced to fight off sharks (great whites), eat birds, and battle lack of hydration and sunscreen the men (except mac who died on the raft) survive 46 days at sea an insurmountable margin that only the strong willed could handle. Upon seeing land the men are captured by a Japanese vessel. Sent to countless Jap POW camps and even separated Louie and Phil battle with even more struggles. Malnutrition, abuse, disease, and lice are just some problems faced. But the main struggle for Louie was a cause of nature but a man. A Jap camp commander nick named the Bird. But all that changes when the famous Billy Graham decides to come to Torrance.
