I know if I am the right person for the job, I would know if I have the right experience and have the qualifications the company were looking for and I would know what was expected from me. By reading and agreeing to my contract I am signing it to say I am happy with what is expected of me and the company. I also would be asked to read companies policies and procedures, care plans and risk assessments to keep me up to date with information helping me to carry out my job to its highest standards. I would sign these booklets to let my manager know I have read them. It is also beneficial to have good communication with your manger and staff so they can both guide you if you get stuck etc.
If there wasn’t a job description or contract put in place you wouldn’t know what was expected of you. Unions couldn’t get involved and help you fight a case if you had a discrepancy with your manager a contract is put in place to protect you and your manager.

Because if there was no partnership some people would not know how to work with others and would be less confident. They wouldn’t gain the knowledge, skills, experience
