The policies and procedures regarding support for conflicts state that it is the responsibilities of those working with Safeguard Adults to understand the national and local context of safeguarding in protection from abuse. Conflicts in this regard may arise where service users are subjected to abuse in an organisation.
The organisation has to work in partnership with statutory agencies which may include:
1. Statutory agencies e.g. Commissioners.
2. Voluntary agencies.
3. Independent private providers of care.
4. Contracted organisations e.g. Local Authority Contracts Team, within Sandwell Adult Services and Health. Contracts Team is made aware of complaints from Health Care Trusts, and state holders; families and Adult Teams.
5. The Community.
6. Members of the Public.
7. Anonymous Referrals.

Alerting and Reporting:-

(i)The alerter has to state – nature of abuse - assessment of risk - summary of actions - decision reached and supporting information - discussion with line manager - monitoring arrangements - review date.
(ii) Strategy Discussion:-
The services area line manager should consult with the appropriate person.
The line manager will identify an appropriate person to carry out the investigation.
If a crime has been committed, police take the lead.
Notify the regulatory body and other authority using the service.
(iii) Role of the police:-
Evidence gathering.
Sexual assault; forensic doctor arranged.
Physical assault; preserve evidence of injury; examined by a G.P./hospital
Medical examination. (iv) The role of the Appropriate Adult.
Has to be present when police interview.
It could be a relative or guardian.
