What is unemployment cost ? Unemployment is well as something bad , most
economist agree that high levels of unemployment are costly not only to a person
directly affected but also as the economy as a whole. Some economist are convincing
themselves that there is a certain level of unemployment that we can not erased.
Elevated unemployment imposes significant cost on someone, the society and the
county.
The cost of unemployment to the individual is not something we are not familiar
with. Someone that loses his job, will have immediate impact to his standard of living.
The individual may qualify for unemployment benefits, but again this will not cover half
of his expenses (Stephen S) . That mean the individual is consuming less than what he had
before.
The cost of unemployment in the society is somewhat not easy to demonstrate.
Rising unemployment is linked to social and economic deprivation(Stephen S). There is some
relationship between rising unemployment and rising crime , and worsening social
dislocation , Elevated crime make sense because lack of money turn people into
criminals to meet their needs.
Unemployment lead to higher payments from state and federal government. For
unemployment benefits for example food stamps and medicaid ,at the same time those
government are no longer collecting the same level of income tax as before , forcing the
government to borrow money and cut back on other spending.( Stephen S)

When the government raises taxes, it will decrease your net personal income. As the government raises taxes, most people’s net personal income will decrease, which means that their disposable income decreases as well. When this happens people tend to spend less money only to avoid going into debt, which will soon affect the market’s income because they are no longer buying goods and services with their disposable income. This problem will eventually lead to a decrease in total tax revenue as the gross incomes of the population can drop.…

There are two different types of unemployment: voluntary and involuntary. Voluntary unemployment is the result of an individual’s lack of desire to work or reluctance to lose government aid that is received from filing for unemployment. The main cause of voluntary employment is welfare payments. When an individual receives welfare payments through eligibility for unemployment, this sometimes actually reduces the individual’s willingness to work. Involuntary unemployment is the result of job cuts. There are many causes of involuntary unemployment, and many have no solution to be prevented. Inflation is one cause of involuntary unemployment. As prices of production increase, the prices of the goods increase. For example, because the state of America’s economy is in recession, the price of American-made goods is higher than goods produced in other countries with more stable economies. This causes a drop in American exports because American companies are unable to compete with foreign goods produced in more stable economies at a lesser cost. The American companies face decreased profits,…
