He uses body language such as blinking, nodding, waving and moving his hands whenever he is speaking in gatherings. Even though he is clever student and a famous young man he smokes cigarettes.
One day in Addis Ababa, Ahmed put his pipe in his mouth as he was climbing the subway steps. A very beautiful girl approached and told him that there was no smoking in the subways. Ahmed pointed out that he was leaving the subway, not entering it and that he had not yet lit up. The girl repeated her injection. Ahmed repeated his observation. After a few such changes, each of them became angry.
“If I let you do it, I would have to let everyone do it,” the girl said.
Ahmed asked himself why the girl was telling him not to smoke on the subway. “Are you the police?” he asked.
“I am not police but I know the rules and regulations of smoking on the subways” she replied.
As she began to walk away, Ahmed grabbed her arm and told her to stay. The girl thought that he was insane and continued walking
He said “You are beautiful and kind. I would like to be your partner, and I need to be with you forever. She didn’t speak to him and left silently.

Fortunately next day he went for a picnic to Nazareth, a small district not too far from Addis Ababa where his grandmother lived. He travelled by bus and

It is difficult for Fatima to comprehend the American way of living especially from a woman’s perspective. She sincerely believes that her way is better. For an Arabic woman, particularly in the rural Iraq in 1950’s, marriage is the only goal and accomplishment. The husband takes care of a woman and her children, so she doesn’t need to work outside of the house. In return, she will be a hard-working devoted mother and wife, a good cook and housekeeper, and a quiet, obedient companion to her husband (p. 56). She also wouldn’t even imagine “a horrible fate” of being married to a stranger and “sent to live away from the family” (p.158). In this culture, the ideal husband would be a father’s brother’s son: someone she would know since her childhood.…

Jamal’s parents wanted to settle in a place where safety and equality would be presented to the family, especially Bibi and her mother. In Afghanistan, life was not very equal when comparing boys and girls. Girls could not go outside without the company of a man, which meant that Bibi could not play soccer, but that did not stop her, no matter how risky it was. As a result, the family wanted to go to a place where it was safe and equal for women. The author shows the importance of equality for women when he writes: ‘…female soccer players. Bibi seems a bit overwhelmed.’ This shows that their ache for freedom, equality and independence inspired them to find a safe and equal environment for Bibi and her mother.…

He is one of those children born in every generation whose brain never develops. Born a beautifully formed baby, today Ali looks like any normal 15-year-old, though his arm and leg muscles are slightly flabby from disuse. Brown curls twist over his head. His sole outward sign of feeble-mindedness is the vague shadow of a smile that flickers continually across his face. He is the victim of one of nature's accidents.…
