P2: Explain the potential effects of five different life factors, on the development of an individual.
Introduction:
I will be explaining 5 different life factors which all have hazardous effects on the lives of individuals.
Cystic fibrosis
Is an illness which is genetically passed on, it is caused by a defective gene. The cystic fibrosis gene is recessive, this means that if a child has a parent who carries the gene they will not get the illness unless the other parent also carries the gene however, there is a 1 in 4 chance of catching the disease. Cystic fibrosis causes excess production of a defective protein that causes the lungs to become full of sticky thick mucus. Sufferers of Cystic fibrosis can have …show more content…
Dampness is one of the main indicators of poor housing, it can cause allergic reactions, inflammatory diseases and asthma. Other indicators of poor housing include: poor lighting, un-safe glass in windows, poor maintenance of stairs and loose rugs. In some occasions, houses may be overcrowded this can effect individuals in many ways for example, stress due to lack of privacy, difficulty sleeping due to noise. Moreover, overcrowded housing may also affect people’s ability to study as well as limit people’s ability to washing facilities. It is a known fact that people living on low incomes are more likely to live in poor housing. The news has recently begun to report that housing is badly affecting older people living on low incomes, this is because older properties usually are in worse conditions and are less insulated then modern homes. This consequently, causes the older people to receive higher heating
