Figured bass is a musical notation using numbers to indicate chords and intervals related to the bass note of the music. Basso continuo was the harmony of the music. They are related because figured bass helped the musician playing basso continuo by giving number under the bass note to show which chords should be played.

Ornamentation is a feature in Baroque music. It’s the use of musical flourishes that are non-necessary to the basic melody or harmony.

Oratorios are large-scale compositions that tended to be serious and dramatic. Oratorios differed from operas because they did not use scenery in the performance. They also were mostly sacred topics instead of history and mythology.

An orchestra is a large instrumental ensemble or group that contain brass, string, percussion, and woodwind instruments. Orchestras influenced Baroque music because it made composers start to right specifically for orchestras.

I listened to Vivaldi’s Summer from the Four seasons. His music is very detailed and emotional. I think he is influential in Baroque music because he was very good and wrote great works of music.
