the Learning and Development function for approval, so it is essential that you complete the tasks to the highest standard.
Task 1
The first part of the material will take the form of a hand-out on leadership and management theories. The hand-out must include an:
• analysis of the concepts of leadership and management. • evaluation of the key management and leadership theories. • assessment of the challenges of leadership and management practice.
Task 2
The second part of the training and development materials is a booklet which will be issued to the participants in the programme. There are 3 sections to this booklet.
• The first part is an analysis of the key motivational theories and how they influence organisational success. • The second part is an evaluation of the role of leadership and management in employee motivation. • The final part is an analysis of the contribution of performance management techniques as organisational processes.
Task 3
The final section of the training materials should take the form of an aide memoire on teams, which participants can refer to in the work role. The aide memoire is divided into 3 parts which must cover an:
• Analysis of the development of teams. • Analysis of the roles and models of team leadership. • Evaluation of the role and usefulness of teams within the organisation
Guidelines for assessors
The assignments submitted by students must achieve the learning outcomes and meet the standards specified by the assessment criteria for the unit. The suggested evidence listed below is how students can demonstrate that they have met the required standard.
