One of the conversation we talked about in unit 6 learning journal was language barriers. There are many children born in the United States that speak little to none of their native tongue. The assumption is that people that live in America from different cultures speak the language of their parents, and grandparents. Moreover, what we have learned from stories like Samir Moussa writings is that culturally diverse children depend on extended exposure to their native language to see the value of their heritage.
