UNIT 7 PROMOTE PERSON CENTRED APPROACHES IN HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE

EXPLAIN HOW AND WHY PERSON CENTRED VALUES MUST INFLUENCE ALL ASPECTS OF HEALTH AND SOCIA CARE WORK.

Person centred values must influence all areas of health and social care work this is because it involves the individual that is centre to the care and should consider all aspects of their life, it should be individualised for each person including their rights and personal preferences and beliefs etc.
If person centred values were our guidelines and we worked to these it would help to provide a non-discriminatory workplace and would also support individual’s rights and equal opportunities, dignity, respect, independence and privacy as well as their safety.

EVALUATE THE USE OF CARE PLANS IN APPLLYING PERSON CENTRED VALUES

Personal care plans are a lot more detailed than basic care plans. Personal care plans give a much more detailed account of the individual’s wishes regarding their care and how they would like the care to be given as well as their interests, likes and dislikes and also people who are important to them.
The care plan will also have the necessary assessment needs and circumstances required outcomes and timescales for reviewing it all, all the listed above would have been achieved with the individual at the centre in partnership with all the necessary people.

TO BE ABLE TO WORK IN A PERSON CENTRED WAY
2.1 WORK WITH AN INDIVIDUAL AND OTHERS TO FIND OUT THE INDIVIDUALS HISTORY, PREFERENCES, WISHES AND NEEDS
To achieve a person centred way you need to understand the individual and not just their current life you need to understand their past as well as this will help you to understand and get used to their likes, dislikes and beliefs the individual should be at the centre of the person centred way it is also important not to think that past preferences are related to current ones they must be agreed on and discussed with the individual this will help form a better
