Unit Description
This course focuses on some central topics in the field of Chinese history. Such topics may include a particular historical period or event, a school of thought, particular philosophical or historiographical texts, or issues relating to the process of history making itself, that helped to shape the socio-cultural spheres of China’s existence. Students will read and analyse sources in Chinese and English relevant the specific topics. A level of Chinese approximately equal to HSC for Background Speakers is required as class discussions will be mainly in Chinese.
