Attenuation can cause performance issues because of dirty fiber end faces, excessive gaps between fibers or improperly installed connector offsets of fiber cores when mated. The second factor affecting splicing performance is called Angle Acceptance also known as Modal Dispersion. This has to do with a differential delay between the modes, which can cause for a lower bandwidth. The last and final factor is Chromatic dispersion which is the limited bandwidth of certain single mode optical fibers. This has to do with the length of light that is emitted through wave lengths. The best way to avoid these affects is to make sure the ratings match and the splicing is perfect, as well as the end faces meet.…

Centralization sums up my primary reason for implementing Active Directory. The Active Directory structure makes it possible for you to achieve truly centralized management of users, regardless of how big your client’s network has become. If you've worked with Windows NT before, you know that in Windows NT a domain is a completely independent entity. While it's possible to create a trust relationship between domains that exist on a common network, the domains are never truly integrated with each other because there is no higher authority that manages the domains.…

Today I read LET’S STOP SCARING OURSELVES by Michael Crichton. It is about a man who is taking a look back at his life and the different views that have captivated the country, and even the world, over his lifetime. He talks about the different scares like how power lines caused radiation that would cause cancer, how we would run out of natural resources like oil and gold by 1993, and how the population would be at 14 billion by 2030 which would cause starvation and famine before that. Each of these claims turned out to be nothing soon after they were publicized. Most people feared these things and would take drastic measures to avoid them, only to find out that they didn’t even exist in the first place.…
