United States Army Personal Statement Analysis
“Requesting permission to join the United States Army”

I would like to please rejoin the United States Army and fulfill my

obligations proudly. I joined the Active Duty component with the United States Army on

September 9, 2013 and was separated from Advanced Individual Training on

February 28, 2014 with an uncharacterized discharge due to failure to adapt.

I’ve separated from the United States Army because I realized I had an

opportunity and for the most part I wasn’t ready, therefore, I requested permission to be

separated. During Advanced Individual Training I couldn’t get use to the MOS as an 92F

Petroleum Supply Specialist, therefore, I lacked maturity and patience and thought to

myself that I could get out and rejoin a few years into

Since separation from the Army, I’ve started working several jobs to pay for a

Nursing program at a nearby college so I would gain insight of the medical field. At the

time, I had a relative who experienced a stroke and during my free time, I would provide

assistance. After the Nursing program finished, I began looking for a full time job

utilizing the trade that I’ve learned in the Army. So therefore, I was offered a job at an

municipality distributing and sampling water not fuel. Along with the full time job, I began

a part time job at a boat dock to take care of my expenses along with school. As time

went by I’ve had several different trainings such as operating a forklift, heavy equipment

and went to school to become licensed in my position as a Utility Service Worker.

Further along, I worked on obtaining my Commercial Class B Driver license. For fun and

my well-being, I continue to maintain my health and continued Cross training to stay fit

along with fitness I joined an Adult Men’s flag football league along with coaching

Since I was a young child, I have always admired the United States military. I serve with honorable junior enlisted and Non-Commissioned Officers who deserve great respect. I am ready to take what I have learned from the enlisted corps and move forward in my efforts to expand my knowledge and abilities by becoming a commissioned officer in the United States Army.…

First and foremost, I would like the permission to speak freely because I want to say what's on my mind because since I arrived to AIT I thought this phasing process is the most ridiculous process I've ever heard of in my entire life and I want to address it. With all due respect to the people who thought of these absurd rules, but I think it is the biggest waste of time for AIT soldiers who should be focused on the main objective being in AIT, school and studying for school.…

There were many significant things about this event that made it important. One of them was, If i got my license, I would not have to depend on my parents or some friends on getting a ride from them. I did not have to feel humiliated by my other friends who owned a car. I wouldn't have to bother my parents to get picked up or to be taken somewhere I wanted to go to. I would be able to drive anywhere I want when I have my license. I would not have to depend on anyone anymore but myself to go to places. Acquiring a drivers license would benefit me a lot in many ways.…

I have had a keen interest in the Department of the State for 12 years. I am a big proponent of diplomacy and it has been a dream to represent the United States in working with people around the world to help spread our interests abroad and work toward a spirit of cooperation and mutual understanding. During my time as an active duty member of the United States Air Force (USAF), I became aware of positions to serve at embassies around the world. I applied for a few positions at embassies in Sudan and Uganda, but the USAF needed me to perform other missions, so I was not selected for embassy duty. As I neared retirement, I continued to pursue my interest in joining the Department of the State team by taking the Foreign Service Officer test…
