Although it is dramatically imbalanced that the proportion of male and female students in some subjects of some universities in China, I don’t think it is necessary to compel a rigid 50/50 gender balance in every subject of schools.
Firstly, it is true that different characteristics between boys and girls determine their different favorite and what they are good at. For example, most of men are skilled in technology because they are able to make product sample by hands, while women tend to study languages because they have patience to repeat what they learn again and again to improve their pronunciation. Secondly, universities have a hard time equating the numbers of men and women as students completely have a right to decide what subject to join.
