University Life
College right after High School

Just graduating high school I had a huge and adult like decision ahead of me. I was so focused and hanging out and cruising around blast music and swimming at the lake all summer school or work never crossed my mind. If I liked it or not my summer was ending and everyone else had a plan but me.

I finally chose school but what school did I want to go to Weber State was close to home but did I want to go to school by home? I wanted to explore and go somewhere adventurous. The reason I wanted to go to college was because my grandma took pride in telling everyone I was the first one out of 32 grandkids to graduate high school.

I wanted to go to school not be better than anyone in my family but because I wanted to push myself to the max. My first day of college was crazy so many people and old friends and so much freedom compared to high school no one cared if you went to class or not or even turned in your homework. You made your own life in college and determined how much you wanted to succeed.

I though as long as I went to college I can take any class I wanted to. Was I wrong taking AP chemistry in high school I thought I could take 2010 chemistry with a lab in college? I never in my life thought I would study for 24 hours in one week for just one class. In conclusion my thoughts on college are no matter what education is the best thing you can have. Some people learn better than others. Di also think you should do too much because we have a life and we need to live it.

When I was a senior in high school, everyone around me was rushing around filling out college applications and writing their entrance essays. All of the guidance counselors in high school were always talking about college. They made sure you applied to at least two, it was almost like they were pressuring you to go to college. I like to make my own decisions, rather than people tell me what to do, especially if I do not need to do it. I never took any AP courses, and I only took the SATs once. My counselor questioned me why I did that, I only had my mind on one college, n University. I made sure I did everything I could do to ensure I would get accepted and not have to apply to any other colleges. I only took the SATs once because I knew the score I had to beat to get into , doing so the first time I did not take them again.…

    Enjoy university life

How many time have you complained after entering the university? I believe that more complaints that you have made, less satisfactory that you have. To enjoy university life, you should and could reduce the complaints. You may say, it is not your fault. You are not able to control others and force them to do better. In fact, what you should control are not others. Instead, it is your mind. I mean, you should think positive. I remember the second ocamp that I have joined. The greatest activity in the camp is water battle. It is the best way to fight against the glaring sun during the summer holiday. Pouring water to each other, all people got wet, excluded a boy. He stood away from the battlefield and became the only observer of the battle. Why he did not grab a water gun? There were a number of reasons. He said ‘Oh. It is not healthy. Getting wet make us cough, sneeze and finally get cold. And is so wasteful that drinking water is used in playing.’ Everybody were exciting but he was angry. The only similarity of them was that they were crazy. The reason that the boy failed to enjoy the game is not the content of the game. It is the mind of the boy. I mean, he only thought about the disadvantage but not benefit. From the story, we know that if we keep on being pessimistic, we will not enjoy and even join the game. Thinking positive is the key to have a fulfilled university life. So try to control you mind and be optimistic in the university, as well as in the rest of your life. That’s all I want to share, thank…
