In this experiment the experimenters observed workers’ productivity. They wanted to identify if their productivity would increase when more light was provided in their environment. The observers of this experiment discovered despite if they increased illumination through lighting their productivity steadily increased. The observers decided to choose 5 women to repeat the experiment and the same results were yielded with increase productivity. This was the origination of the Hawthorn Effect (“Case Study The Hawthorn Effect”, 2008). In utilizing the Hawthorn Effect framework, another example would be if an experimenter wanted to measure inappropriate behavior in a workplace environment regarding sexual comments. If the employees received training regarding how inappropriate comments negatively impact a workplace environment and knew the experiment would be conducted this can impact the results of the experiment. Employees may curb normal inappropriate jokes and conversations due to the knowledge of an experiment being conducted. The employees may be afraid of losing their job and being negatively viewed in the experiment. The technique to remedy this is for the experimenter to disguise the fact that an experiment is being conducted. This is the best way to yield true results. When an experimenter conducts an experiment their goal
