'Unrequited Love' By Kurt Flick: Song Analysis
The song was originally sang by Kurt Flick and though the song is in Cebuano dialect you’ll get the gist by watching the music video. I on the other hand fall in love with Kaye Cal’s version. Yeah, my Cebuano is very limited but the melody alone and Kaye Cal’s soothing voice takes me into a trance where words and meaning becomes irrelevant. It has that calming yet melancholic effect. Her song has that effect on me, like a blanket of cloud hovering, makes me feel quixotic and emotional.

The rough translation (I googled it though) of the title (Hasula) is “hassle”. But for me it’s deeper than that. The song talks about unrequited love. It is watching the one you love with someone he/she loves while trying to keep your cool and contain
