Talking about an unsung hero. In my opinion my unsung hero is a dustman who has known to be a very kind and diligent man working in the neighborhood of my house complex. I know his activity from my house-maid who is also the dustman's wife, and she has been serving for 3 years in my house.
The dustman's name is Yanto, whose age is around 50. He owns 2 kids. The youngest one is a student at an intermediate school, while the elder one is a student of a senior high school in Medan.
I think his cleaning-service is really glorious and helpful to those people who live in my neighborhood, as we can imagine how dirty and smelly our neighborhood would become, during his absence. Without his regular and continual service, I could guarantee that our surroundings would immediately become dirty and dusty till evey corner of our environment. It will automatically cause unhealthy condition to kids who often play around our complex when the day is approaching sunset. Needless to say, the dirty situation around our neighborhood will naturally cause the terrible occurrence of various illnesses and harmful atmosphere to human health around, particularly to those whose physical stamina happens to be under low condition.
Based on the present living situation in the society, honestly speaking, it is very difficult to look for figures who wish to fill the vacancy and to take the responsibility of being a dedicated dustman like my servant's husband, Yanto, whose service and dedication certainly need to be highly honored, appreciated and paid, particularly by those recipients of his diligent service.
In the effort of obtaining additional income and saving in preparation for his elder kid's academic education, Yanto, the dustman frequently accept extra jobs from my neighbors and grandma, such as assisting my grandmother in cutting off branches of trees, that have grown wildly untidy, besides helping the other inhabitants of our complex doing sort of gardening and painting of their gates and fences.
Due to his praiseworthy diligence and living principle, hopefully Yanto, under the continual and indirect supports of ours, can afford financing his kid's further study until the level of a university, which initially sounds unimaginable and impossible.
