The Open Window by Saki and Charles by Shirley Jackson have similarities. The stories both use deception to deceive one or more of the main characters. In the ‘Open Window’ the niece made the Mr.Nuttel believe that the males of the family were dead. In ‘Charles’ laurie makes his parents believe a boy was committing heinous acts but they were actually his doing. Both these stories have children do the acts in the story. In the 1st story, Charles was just starting kindergarten when he started those wicked acts. In the 2nd story, the niece was 15 at the beginning of the story ‘Charles’ By Shirley Jackson and “The Open Window” by Saki have differences. The stories are different because the have different authors. Shirley Jackson made ‘Charles’ and
