Goal setting is not something I do naturally. However, I’ve adopted it to help manage a Dermatology practice. It helped provide me with a sense of direction, peace of mind, and a much needed decrease in stress. Setting goals have kept me focused on achieving what I set out for in my profession, and will definitely benefit me as a student. Accomplishing my goals will rely on, creating an action plan, having a strong support system, and setting time frames for success benchmarks.…
My goal has been to be prepared and sometimes ahead of what’s coming, even if it has meant giving up some free time on evenings and the weekends. I have and continue to work hard to achieve my goals and take pride in my accomplishments thus far. I am never happy with something that is anything than less than my best effort. This applies across my academics and my favorite pastime of playing travel baseball.…
You want to go through the goal setting process again and set new goals to work toward, but you also need to celebrate your success. Never accomplish goals without giving yourself the celebration and praise you deserve!…
Participating on the Sutton High School cross country team has been one of the most rewarding yet stressful experiences of my life. For the past five years the Sutton cross country team has been a second home to me and season after season I return thirsting to vanquish a competitive fire. Although I'm ecstatic about competing this year, I was not always this happy about running. Five years ago I decided to try out for a sports team that involved less hand eye coordination (seeing how I have none) and tried out for the cross country team at my school. Almost immediately did I find out that a simple task like running could become much more strenuous not only on my legs and lungs but on the mind. While my body adjusts to the challenges of dirt…
Without goals you have nothing to work towards. Some of the goals I have set for myself this year are to get into a high school program. The programs I would like to be in are Computer Science at Freehold Boro, Medical Science at Freehold Boro, or International Baccalaureate program and Freehold Township. I plan on achieving this goal by studying hard, getting good grades, and always striving for more. Another goal I have set for myself is to make the playoffs this year in football. I plan on achieving this goal by working hard at practice and getting all my teammates to work hard also. If I achieve these goals I think I will have an even more honorable…
Throughout my life, I’ve experienced both competence and incompetence. One of the times that I experienced incompetence was when I began to run in my freshmen year of High School. Having played other sports which were less tiring and fatiguing, I was met with an instant fatigue inducing and enervating sport, with no half-times or breaks. The obstacles I faced made it harder for me to be a good and capable runner, and I lagged behind the…
Goals that I had set for myself and accomplished were bringing my GPA up and getting inducted into National Honor Society. During my freshman year, my GPA was B+ and so I started motivating myself and I did this by focusing on my grades more often and asking teachers for help, who were very kind. I would like to be able to become stronger both in academics and extra circular activities for me to become stronger and a capable student; it will take hard work and dedication just to push myself. As years passed, by GPA started going up and in my junior year where, some of my friends got inducted into National Honor Society and I had not. It had motivated me more to work even harder, and by the end of Junior Year, my GPA was 89.04 and I was ranked…
I continue to make goals for myself and continue to achieve my goals. I will carry forward striving for the best. I use to just give up but I realize that doesn’t make me any better. Some of the things I think about when I just want to give up is,“You have the patience, the strength and the passion to meet your ambitions your goals and your dreams. All you need to do now, is try.”also “What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals.” I had to really think about what it really meant but now I…
I can achieve my goals by doing the work given to me and making sure I complete that work on time and to the best of my ability, in addition to listening to my superior’s at work and helping them out to the best of my abilities.…
Choosing to be in track and field is a decision I have never regretted in my life. It has taught me discipline, endurance, and perseverance all the while forcing consistency with grades and dedication to the workouts. Although it is a skill that I am constantly improving, the results of my dedication to this sport have affected my entire life and I am eternally grateful.…
Most of my races are a mental battle with myself. When I’m nearing the finish, my legs are about to collapse and I can hardly get in any air. If I push myself any harder, I would throw up before the finish line. Despite that, I know that if I just survive the last few seconds, It’ll pay off in the end when I will be sure that I’ve tried my hardest and have set a new Personal Record. Running is not only good for your health but also a way to relax and enjoy the peaceful landscape around…
Why are your goals so important? Does it make you gain any success in life?…
By setting goals students can learn more because it helps them focus on the goals they have set for themselves. Oxana D. Clark says “Goal setting improves student performance and enhances achievement by allocating attention, activating effort, increasing persistence and motivation which in turn leads to the development of self- regulation of skills”(2013).…
When I was a field runner in high school as part of a running club, I had to compete and I had to train hard because a victory or failure was just depending on me.…
Look at it. A goal that you can actually see is massively more powerful than a goal you write down on a checklist. This is a favorite technique of mine and it works very well if you’re a visual learner.…
