1.0. LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED 1.1 Prerequisite
Basic knowledge of Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Mathematics

2.0 OBJECTIVES:

The objectives of this course are

a) To provide a knowledge on standards and laws pertaining to environment.
b) To make the students understand the technologies for abatement of water and air pollution
c) To give an exposure to the students about the pollution control techniques adopted in the process industries
d) To make the students understand the steps involved in Environment Impact Assessment
e) To provide an awareness about Sustainable Development and Life Cycle Analysis.

Unit-III: Air pollution
Unit-IV: Pollution control in process industries and pollution control methodologies
Unit-V: Introduction to EIA, Need and scope of EIA
