OBJECTIVE
The objective of the course is to understand the rural life of India their settlement pattern and the traditional construction techniques being incorporated.
The Study should include the Anthropometric for the disabled persons. The study should be conducted under the broad heading Barrier Free Environment.
CONTENTS
UNIT – I (08-weeks)
Study of Vernacular settlement with emphasis on contextual architecture, socio-economic Characteristics, climate, geomorphic factors, local materials, building techniques, spatial analysis etc.
Design exercise based upon study of above vernacular settlement.
UNIT – II (4-weeks)
Design of Office complex, Guest house/Motel, Museum, District Library etc.
NOTE:
Two design problems to be completed in this semester. The concerned faculty is required to frame a detailed programme for each of the above design problems and time problem with reference to the above contents.
