The time period directly after WWI in the U.S. will always be overshadowed by the depression, even though it also included one of the best periods of economic growth that the country has ever seen. For one to see that it requires them to first look at WWI
WWI and Its Impact on the Economy
World War I broke out in the year 1914; at this point the government certainly had a hand in a lot of the economic process. The tensions in Europe caused international trade to decline as trading with one country would anger another. Some trade and aid was being given out to Great Britain, and the sinking of those trade ships are ultimately what caused the U.S. to enter the war
The Economy during the War
During the war the U.S. economy saw great domestic growth as the war effort grew. Specific industries that grew were the Textiles, Defense related, and Technological Industries. The advances in technology created more opportunities for corporations to expand into other areas of the economy.
