Using Feminist Lens
FEMINIST LENS:
A Feminist lens can be useful in every day life, because one of the most uttered issues is the characters of individuals such as girls. They are the ones often controversial.
It’s been part of our lives, discussing characteristics, values, behaviors, etc.
THE MISS PHILIPPINE PAGEANT:
Women who are tall, have curved body shaped, beautiful, and smart are the so-called Miss Philippines, Binibining Pilipinas and they were the candidates.
Some are willing to support this kind of pageant but some do not like this also.
People may think that it is not really important to show the body just to prove they are beautiful, because they are convinced that beauty is in the inside -- the characteristics and the intelligence itself. People may think that it is a kind of abused and it should be under censored.
We all have the rights to judge but for me I’m in favor of Pageants because it showcases the real beauty of a Filipina inside and out, that my fellow Filipinos should be proud of. Maybe, I can suggest that we should protect the physical appearance of a Filipina, by using feminist lens. Two piece and daring clothes should be avoided to be worn. Conservativeness is needed.
RH BILL
As we all know, one of famous issues nowadays is the RH BILL. It is all about birth control and maternal care. Women are allowed to use pills to avoid pregnancy due to continuous population growth.
Everyone is debating about this RH bill, for some agreed and some don’t. Those anti-RH Bill, specially the Catholic people says that it is a mortal sin under God’s Will. For the Pro-RH Bill, it is a great help to prevent large population growth.
For me, it will depend on how people are going to use it. We should know the limitations and make this thing to focus on what could bring us a healthy life.
It is just like other medicines, it shouldn’t be abused. Too much is not really good.
