Usmania Glass Sheet
Usmania Glass Sheet Factory Ltd is the first glass sheet factory in Bangladesh. It was established in 1959. The oldest glass sheet plant in Bangladesh is situated in the southern side of the country at the district of Chittagong. It started its commercial production in 1961 but after the liberation war in 1971, it was taken by the government of Bangladesh and was subsequently placed under Bangladesh Chemical Industry Corporation (BCIC). Until 1996 Usmania was the only glass sheet manufacturing company but in 1997 another glass sheet company-‘MEB” was established in Dhaka. Within the last two years there were more competitors in the market like PHP Float Glass Industries Limited and Nasir Glass Limited (NGL), who came into the industry with advanced technology and capacity. Thus Usmania Glass Sheet Limited is losing its market share. Without the proper innovation, and weak marketing and strategic planning the company is in a desperate situation of becoming bankrupt. It is also government regulated company and it does not have the drive to compete against its competitors due to corruption. The company is not at all thinking about re-engineering its facilities and machineries to cope up with the industry environmental change. Therefore the government is suffering heavy losses. This was the first glass sheet-producing unit in this industry. But glass sheet companies are not developed in our country as for need. Usmania was monopoly in this line up to 1996. And in 1997 another glass sheet factory “MEB” was established in the capital city. It is a part of ISLAMIC BROTHERS. But within last two years the following organizations came into the market with more advanced technology and capacity.
PHP Float Glass Industries Ltd. (having 150 M.ton production capacity each day) it was taken over by the Government of Bangladesh and was subsequently placed under Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC).it was taken over by the Government of Bangladesh and was subsequently

At some point though the continent it was located on collapsed into the planet it resided on. All remnants of it shattered to oblivion. All there was left were a few artifacts traders had before the collapse happened and stories the elders spoke of. After thousands of years all was forgotten. Ioni and all that was known of it was gone, none knew of it and everybody went through their trainings not knowing who had created their art form of war. One day on a sunny day the whole world was at peace. No wars had been fought for 200 hundred years and civilization was thriving. As the birds chirped and children played in the meadows, the planet shook all across. The oceans seem to sink deeper and the water levels lowered. New land rose and came with it many old broken structures. Ioni had rose back up to the world. Out of all the chaos wars broke out for the race to see what was in these structures. Millions died trying to figure out what was in these structures. One day a group of explorers found something that was terrifying to all of them, a war mask stained in blood. The mask bathed in black had carving all over it and some with blood as a paint over. The mask itself lied on a pedestal patiently waiting. All around this mask were more carvings and the first of their kind, actually writing by the people that once existed. The writings themselves suggest that there lived about 10,000 people, all with the heart of a warrior. They ate much of the same traditional food they still ate at the current time: rice, fish, cattle, and many…

Many of the glass screens and windows we see today are not really made of glass. They are made of plexiglass. Plexiglass is not related to the chemical structure of glass at all. It is an organic polymer. Today this polymer is used in all sorts of applications. The formation of plexiglass was begun in 1930, at McGi11 University by William Chalmers, a research student. He polymerized methacrylic ethyl ester and methacrylic nitirile, creating a clear plastic paste. Later, in 1936, Walter Bauer and Otto Rohm accidentally developed plexiglass by pouring the gum between two sheets of glass. The gum hardened and separated cleanly from the glass sheets. They created plexiglass as we know it today. Since its discovery, plexiglass has found more and more applications and uses. Its important physical properties are due to the chemical structure of this polymer.…
