The western regional rollout indicates that 88% of all 1 Day Acuvue customers utilized contact lenses prior to purchase, a majority of whom used contact lenses in conjunction with spectacles. Exhibit 18 indicates that 1 Day Acuvue was also preferred by college graduates earning $81,000 or more primarily between the ages of 18-45 who frequently travel on business. This data insinuates that 1 Day Acuvue should be targeted towards two specific markets: high income business travelers and athletes and medical patients. Both segments share common characteristics of being less price-sensitive and being current users of disposable soft lenses. While the dropout market is potentially lucrative, it will be hard for the ECP or Vistakon to convince this market that 1-Day Acuvue possesses benefits far beyond their prior contact lens, specifically for the 65% who discontinued because of cost, discomfort, ease of use, need for bifocals, and loss/tear in…

    Bottled Water vs. Tap

    • 3 Pages

In our world, pollution is a common factor to the deterioration this planet is facing. Water bottles, when not disposed of properly, lead to pollution. In an online article entitled, “Tap water vs. Bottled Water and the Environment,” it states, “…nearly 90% of bottles are not recycled.” (Karlstrom and Dell'Amore) The failure to recycle leads to serious issues in our environment. Who is to blame for the shortcomings of recycling? We all are. As citizens of America, we have a responsibility to recycle as soon as the bottle is in our possession. Even when transporting bottled water for production and sale, a significant amount of fossil fuels and carbon dioxide is produced causing much fuel usage. Although bottled water should not be blamed for all of the earth’s environmental issues, there is quite a bit of damage it has caused already and this should be a caveat for water bottle drinkers. On another side, tap water does not need the production of bottles so fossil fuels would not be utilized as much. The article explains that the environment would be 17.6 million barrels of oil richer if people consumed tap water over bottled water. (Karlstrom and Dell'Amore). Tap water could be consumed in washable glasses preventing the disposal of trash to end up on the landfills. Tap water is also used for other reasons besides drinking, for…

    Essay On Bottled Water

    • 616 Words

At schools a majority of kids have to drink out of our water fountains. The water in the water fountains has to travel through rusted pipes. Pipes can contain leach copper and lead; some water treatment plants are not designed to remove toxins, such as, medications, human excretion, and even drugs people let wash down drain pipes. Parents I don’t believe realize what contaminants could be in a water fountain. Taking a bottle of water to school could help solve this issue, and also from being their kids possibly getting dehydrated. Seeing as kids only get a “1, 2, 3” count to drink after recess.…

The water bottles also make a lot of noise which could be distracting for some peers, and in some state’s cities have already banned bottled water like Concord, Massachusetts, and San Francisco, California. Water bottles can be very accessible but why spend money for multiple water bottles when you could make a one time purchase on a refillable metal water bottle. Even though the water may be purified the plastic cannot be and poses a threat to your health due to the chemicals in the plastic. The plastic contains bisphenol A (BPA) in the plastic container, and these compounds can seep into the water, which means you are probably consuming them. The risk is greatly increased if water content is stored in very warm areas, like areas with direct…
