Many of us agree that immunizations prove critical in protecting the health of children. But, as we age, we shy away from that needle thinking we are naturally immune. Or, at least, we hope so.
The truth is that staying up-to-date on vaccines offers significant protection for both children and adults while preventing outbreaks of serious illness. Also, the immunization of both age groups guards the other as well. In other words, vaccines prevent you from getting sick as well as those around you no matter their age.

Reasons to Be Immunized
Keeping up-to-date on your vaccines serves several purposes. Let’s get personal first:

— Some serious diseases can be prevented.
— Peace of mind for you and those you love.
Likely, your doctor can give more reasons as to why getting vaccines are important. Schedule an examination and ask him or her to talk with you about and provide current information on vaccines. Developing an immunization schedule together with a medical professional helps get you on track in this regard.
Even if vaccinated as a child, the protection wears off over time. Or, the bacteria changes leaving your system at risk. Check with your doctor about the need to be re-immunized or receive a booster to protect
