to an article published today in the New England Journal of Medicine, children who receive the whole-cell pertussis (DTP) vaccine, or measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine, may be at an increased risk of developing rare seizures brought on by a high fever. However, researchers from University of Washington and the Kaiser Vaccine Study examined the medical records of nearly 700,000 children. The DTP vaccine was only associated with an increased risk of seizure on the day it was administered. The MMR vaccine was associated with an increased risk of seizures eight-to-14 days after vaccination. Yes, in fact, after vaccinating the child they can present fever but it can be treated and control. Parents must be more educated about vaccines. The importance of having your child vaccinated is to prevent them from getting any disease or sickness.
Furthermore vaccines protect future generations, and to help keep them safe, it is important that you and your children who are able to get vaccinated are fully immunized. This not only protects your family, but also helps prevent the spread of these diseases to your friends and loved ones. In effect vaccines will involve some discomfort and may cause pain, redness, or tenderness at the site of injection but this is minimal compared to the pain, discomfort, and trauma of the diseases these vaccines prevent. Serious side effects following vaccination, such as severe allergic reaction, are very rare. Only one in a million children has a serious adverse reaction to vaccinations. If we continue vaccinating now, and vaccinating completely, parents in the future may be able to trust that some diseases of today will no longer be around to harm their children in the
future.
To conclude your children need to get vaccinated at an early age to prevent diseases that cause death and disabilities. Even tough some parents or people don’t think the same way; vaccines play an important role in every children life. I believe if we spread out vaccines out over a period of time only leaves children more exposed and vulnerable to disease. The influence on a higher education parents receive will increase children to get their appropriate vaccines. We must constantly make the point of the value of these vaccines in preventing the thousands and thousands of deaths and disabilities that would have resulted in the absence of vaccination. That’s why I’m convinced that vaccines are safe en effective.
