ENGLISH (VALEDICTORIAN SPEECH)

New beginning, new chapter, new endeavours, new challenges.

First, I’d like to thank God. Secondly, I’d like to thank my family. Finally, I’d like to thank Google, copy/paste and their creators.

A year ago, many of us fresh out of our respective secondary schools had to leave our comfort zones, the warm security of our beloved homes. And venture into a strange environment of such changeable weather and new faces, all in search of a dream.

Although we thought we were prepared for these eventual adjustments, there were many events and things which seem uncertain. On the other hand, at the back of our minds was the passion and excitement to pursue our studies at Rizal Technological University-Pasig. There were often many distractions and over the course of time we had to get our academic priorities in line. We had to remind ourselves of the reasons why we came to RTU. Our parents had sacrificed much for us and the least we can do is to excel in our studies to the best of ability and do them proud.

But now we are going into a different phase of life. We are now going our separate ways into life. We each have a different are that we can contribute in. We each have different goals to achieve. We will no longer the same people to be that helping hand or soft shoulder. Therefore we must take with us the knowledge we have learned in the past sixteen years, not just secular knowledge, but the knowledge we have also gained outside the classroom. I truly believed that the experience we have made us that much stronger to overcome the stumbling blocks that will be placed before us on life’s path. We will overcome these stumbling blocks, we will prosper, we will achieve. The class of 2016.

Headmaster Dr. Torres, faculty members, fellow students, family, and friends, a pleasant morning to all of you. We never thought this day would come. We prayed for its quick delivery, and crossed days of our calendars, counted hours,

Pursuing something new is fun and exciting, especially if the pursuit positively impacts someone else. I am grateful for the opportunity to re-enter grad school, this time at the doctorate level, to realize a dream that I’ve had since the beginning of my teaching career. My goal is to be sharp, skilled, creative and effective as a teacher and leader so that I can significantly influence the organization and overall culture of my school, other teachers, students, and the community. A necessary attribute of a great teacher should be the desire to seek ways to improve learning for all children. I am committed to learning and developing the knowledge and skills that a great leader needs to make a difference in education. I believe all students can have academic success.…

In the essay, “The Joy of Graduating” by Kate Stone Lombardi, describes the traditional high school valedictorian competition with the most prestigious students. The fight for the position of valedictorian has intensified over the years. Danielle Gorman, an elected valedictorian at Moorestown High School in New Jersey, was quoted by Lombardi of the qualifications and standards it took to become valedictorian. The traits Gorman describes common to valedictorians were taking on too much and are unwilling to fail. I think that Gorman’s assessment is reasonable because many people who strive to become valedictorian take on “more than they can chew” by taking multiple advanced placement classes to extracurricular activities in…

When criminals are arrested and about to be tried in front of a jury of their peers and a judge, they are most likely will be offered a plea deal. Now this plea deal if it is accepted by the offender will stand as their punishment for the crime committed without having to go through court and trial which in some cases helps to spare the victims from having to testify in front of the person that had wronged them. Rape victims are the ones that are the most beneficial from plea bargaining, they do not have to face the offender that brought them such harm. On another note though these offenders are not serving the time that they would originally be given if gone to trial so the victims feel as though there is an injustice to plea bargaining. People that are harmed want their offenders to serve the most time they can so that they are given time to heal and recover from these inhumane acts of committed against them. “The Bureau of Justice Statistics, after studying partial data on state-court felony prosecutions nationwide, found that from 1986 to 2006 the ratio of pleas to trials nearly doubled.” (Oppel, 2011)…

One thing people have always told me is that I remind them of the person Randall Cobb from the book game changers. He has one of the most creative and unique personalities. He is passionate for the game of basketball by working hard on his time. Randall is also talented in the subjects math and science by pushing himself to make good grades. He also thrives to help people even if it's with school work, personal problems, or on the basketball court. All in all he was almost exact the same person as I am he likes basketball, he helps others, and he does well in school.…

I conferred with loved ones and I accepted my circumstances. It was time to begin anew, and I dedicated the last year to finishing my degree and realizing my purpose. As an English major, I was always passionate about writing, reading, manifesting new interpretations and expressing ideas. I could pinpoint details and construct an entirely new implication. Everything has an underlying meaning that is awaiting to be understood, and life presents us with specific points of reference; and our responsibility is to grasp its…

Welcome family, friends, teachers, and fellow students and thank you for coming to our 8th grade graduation. As a class, we have endured changes throughout the years from being split up in the classroom ( Port Allen on one side and Erwinville on the other) as if we were on the bus with Rosa Parks to being untied, from having a teacher and coming back from Christmas break wondering who was going teach us geometry, a change in administration, down to dances from the dougie to “jiggin” and now to dabbin. Through it all I am glad to say we made it; we survived ebola, Oscar Proud, the Predator, Maleficent. Ms. Morgan’s test, Ms. Roger’ solid advice, and the King of Shade worksheets Mr. Seal’s himself. Also for some of you relationship after relationship. All of these good…

We are about to begin a new educational journey in high school and so we reflect on the journey we have had through elementary school. We are all on a journey, consisting of many different phases. As we gather here tonight, it is with the knowledge that we have completed a major phase in our lives, and that we are about to embark on a new voyage. The change is inevitable, what is not inevitable is how we choose to handle it.…

Throughout the year, I learnt that seeking perfection is an impossible task, especially that we learn from mistakes and failures. Therefore, it is important to analyze the outcomes and to reflect on what led to certain results rather than focusing on the negative result itself. Another lesson that my experiences during this year taught me is that no matter where you go or what you do, you will always find people who support and encourage you, yet you will encounter others who try to take advantage of you. Along…

Hello, I am so honored to speak in front of all the parents, staff and my fellow students today. Wow guys we made it! These past 3 years have been full of so many memories that I know we’ll never forget. Think all the way back to 6th grade we were always the littlest ones and I remember feeling like a fish out of water. We were terrified of getting lost or being late for class, but excited to have a locker to decorate and change classes each period. It doesn’t seem like that was over 2 years ago at all. We came back in 7th grade, much more confident than the year before. We looked down to the new 6th graders, asking "Were we really that short just last year?" And by the end of 7th grade I was shocked that I was officially an 8th grader. 8th grade is defiantly my favorite year. I feel like I have everything under control. But next year is full of changes. We'll have free periods, more homework, electives, and an open campus. The new choices also bring new responsibilities that test us in figuring out how we grow from kids to adults. As we say goodbye on the last day we sit together as Balboa students, we reflect on what has happened the past 3 years, but also look forward to what is coming up in the next 4 years. My advice to future 8th graders is to keep up with your school work and try your absolute best and make lots of good, loyal friends that don’t get you in the bad kind of crowd. And most importantly, have fun! This is the last year you will be the oldest in the school for another 4 years, so enjoy it! I’d like to finish this speech off with this quote : A creative man is motivated by the desire to achieve, not by the desire to beat others.-Ayn Rand…

I’ve grown up with all of you. We’ve laughed and cried together. Though, as I leave, as we all leave, I think about how we’re not going to be all in this together anymore. As the end of our time together grows closer, I want to look towards the future. Yes we’re graduating, but just as Carol Burnett says, ‘We don’t stop going to school when we graduate’. We may be leaving, but we’ll never stop learning. Each new day will be a new adventure. We’ll make new friends and gain new experiences. Yes, I know this all sounds incredibly cliché, but that’s the point isn’t it? School if anything, was a love / hate relationship. We had our ups and downs, and just like school, life is going to be the same. So I encourage you to look back on your own schooling lives; take your mistakes and learn from them.…

Why Do I Love A Book?

In fact, because of my realization, and my responses to actualize change, I have had some of the greatest experiences of my life. Although middle school coursed by without even a second thought, high school has opened up unprecedented opportunities. When I set to cultivate my passions actively rather than allowing them to fade in the sea of doubt, I was introduced to new friends and communities that have since altered my life. A profound example of this is debate, which I joined simply on impulse my freshman year. I began to go to the debate room every day after school, and would talk with my older, more seasoned friends about everything from prom to Marx. They taught me so much about myself and what I would come to love. They showed me what it meant to make a commitment to a lifelong experience of learning. It was all a chance to eliminate the past and create a lifelong commitment to learning, educating, and growing. Debate would grow into an ever more core interest as I began to advance in it, attending the National Speech and Debate Tournament the July after my Freshman year. At the time, I felt like I had made it. A kid that over a year went from sitting at home lazily on the computer to debating at a national tournament in Utah – a true story of progress. But what Salt Lake City taught me was to never stop striving for more. It made me want to keep learning and thriving. And today, that’s exactly what I’m trying to do. Last…

August 8, 2013 was a significant day for ten (10) students of T. Alonzo Elementary School as they are blessed with an intangible gift from IPP Morris Agoncillo who gave ten (10) SCHOLARSHIP GRANTS for the Academic Year 2013-2014. This is the 3rd year of providing CASH GIFTS of P5, 000 per student to sustain some of their school needs. At 8AM to 10AM, a short program was prepared by our adopted school headed by Principal Annabelle Tingzon and witnessed by their faculty members and around 200 students. IPP Morris delivered an inspirational message to the students on how he became a successful professional. And the happiest persons present during the awarding of scholarship grants are the beloved parents of the scholars. This valuable project of RCLH was made possible through the RAMIRO AGONCILLO FOUNDATION INC.…
