Valedictorian Speech
Good evening friends, teachers, and families and welcome to our grade 8 graduation ceremony of 2010- 2011. You all must remember walking hand in hand with your parents on the first day of school and just like that I think you all will remember walking on your own across the stage today. Yet today is the day we have all been waiting for for ten years. Today is the day we graduate from elementary school and move on to high school. But don't forget that this isn't the end but it is a new beginning. We still have to conquer our dreams. Most of us have realized our dreams this year because this year was the year we found parts of our self and we started understanding ourselves better. And this year was the year where we made memories we will never forget. I will never forget all the horrible pranks we pulled off and all the rules we broke I won't recall any because I heard you can still get suspended on the last day of school.

But now I look back and remember all the good memories I had since kindergarten like play day and having our sabres stampede oh and I will never forget the funfair last year when we celebrated cranny's tenth anniversary. I am sure that I'm not the only one who remembers these memories because there are many people here who have been with me for the last 10 years and have enjoyed these events just like me. But moving on to more recent memories like track and field last year or stealing roses off the the rose bush on the other side of the fence or just acting crazy at times are memories that we will cherish because when we will look back we'll say these were the best years of our lives because as we move on to high school we won't be as free and we won't act as crazy because life will get harder and stressful.

But that doesn't mean we won't make memories, we will continue making memories while we are on our journey to reach our destination. We all have our own destination to get to. Someone here might be the future doctor who finds a cure for a disease or someone else sitting amongst you might be the future engineer who invents flying cars, The person sitting next to you might just be the future Bill Gates or Isaac Newton or even the future Albert Einstein. So as we all dream to reach our destination, whatever it is i hope that we will all succeed. I know I’m talking to quite possibly the greatest people I’ve ever known. The people I’ve spent everyday with for all my years of elementary school. I’ve seen the best of all of you, and I know that there are no better people to face what’s ahead. And whatever you have chosen to do, I know you’ll all do it and you’ll all do it well. I also know that we will never forget each other because we have all worked hard together to be what we are now. What we are now will define what we will be in the future so we should be face our fears and challenges with a positive attitude from now on so we can be successful in the future and in high school.

This year...It has been so amazing. And I can’t thank my teachers enough. They did all they could to make sure we had a wonderful ending year of elementary school. They not only taught us what we needed to know, but they made learning fun. Each one of them is unique, and that’s what made them teaching us so fun. And of course, I have to thank my friends and family. They’ve been with me whenever I had trouble, whenever I needed someone to talk to, or even a shoulder to cry on ,in the toughest parts of life; they’ve always been there. And they will continue to be with us all our lives.
Last but not least I would like to say that this year our grade 8 class has been like a family sharing our happiness and grief together, although we had some conflicts we all came together in the end.

So I would just like to congratulate the graduates and say good luck to all of you. Thank you

One thing people have always told me is that I remind them of the person Randall Cobb from the book game changers. He has one of the most creative and unique personalities. He is passionate for the game of basketball by working hard on his time. Randall is also talented in the subjects math and science by pushing himself to make good grades. He also thrives to help people even if it's with school work, personal problems, or on the basketball court. All in all he was almost exact the same person as I am he likes basketball, he helps others, and he does well in school.…

Many people ask me what my fondest memory was and my answer was every thing. From the plays, I have been in to grade 7 Ottawa trip to the Massey hall performance for steel pan. To me memories are things you keep so when I said everything means market lane has a huge impact on me. Many people who I know from other schools would tell me about the many problems they have and now when I look back I see that Market lane has had very few issues. I know we have all had rough spots in our years here but I felt like it has been smoothed away over time. Us as students have been through many things together some of us has been together since jk and some of us had met this year. One memory that stands out to me was our bus ride to Ottawa 6 hours on a bus with a bunch of 13 and 14 year old students…

Although I have no pictures to show these memories, they are still as sharp to myself as if it were yesterday, pardon my cliché. Memories such as Me and Scott not being allowed to play in the sun on really bright days due to our light blonde hair, or how I use to watch hockey games with Kyle and his dad when I was growing up. Or the time Dan tried to drown me in his pool; well we sort of lost touch after that. So it goes.…

Good Afternoon, thank you for coming to our 8th grade promotion. 9 years ago I walked onto this campus for the first time hand in hand with my mom. Being only 5 years old, I had no clue regarding what would happen in the years to come. All I knew was in that moment, I was utterly terrified. Looking back on it now though, I had nothing to worry about.…

While I have been in high school, I have had some amazing times. Whether it was skipping around the field for our last mile run, trying to surprise teachers with birthday parties, or pranking teachers when they leave the room, it’s good to remember that high school not been only homework and tests. It is a fortunate fact that during these four years, we weren’t trapped in a classroom the entire time. It was during our field trips and other off campus activities that I have made some of my favorite memories. Who knew that a class our size could take up only one half of the tour bus? I guess anything is possible if you want to listen to a rap battle. Our trip to Washington DC almost got bad a few times, but we all made it through okay. And I’m sure I don’t need to remind you all of the chaos from our senior trip, but we all survived, so it was…

So it all began at the beginning of 8th grade where all teachers were nice and so they want to make you feel comfortable in there class then they explain how there class will be managed this year, so I guess everything starts off fine. Now 8th graders dont be scared of Erhuy’s big boy talk at the begging of the school year (Erhuy voice)= “Now class as you all know this is…

Hello, I am so honored to speak in front of all the parents, staff and my fellow students today. Wow guys we made it! These past 3 years have been full of so many memories that I know we’ll never forget. Think all the way back to 6th grade we were always the littlest ones and I remember feeling like a fish out of water. We were terrified of getting lost or being late for class, but excited to have a locker to decorate and change classes each period. It doesn’t seem like that was over 2 years ago at all. We came back in 7th grade, much more confident than the year before. We looked down to the new 6th graders, asking "Were we really that short just last year?" And by the end of 7th grade I was shocked that I was officially an 8th grader. 8th grade is defiantly my favorite year. I feel like I have everything under control. But next year is full of changes. We'll have free periods, more homework, electives, and an open campus. The new choices also bring new responsibilities that test us in figuring out how we grow from kids to adults. As we say goodbye on the last day we sit together as Balboa students, we reflect on what has happened the past 3 years, but also look forward to what is coming up in the next 4 years. My advice to future 8th graders is to keep up with your school work and try your absolute best and make lots of good, loyal friends that don’t get you in the bad kind of crowd. And most importantly, have fun! This is the last year you will be the oldest in the school for another 4 years, so enjoy it! I’d like to finish this speech off with this quote : A creative man is motivated by the desire to achieve, not by the desire to beat others.-Ayn Rand…

There are things in our life that might not be easy to forget: a triumphant match, the first kiss from our love, a school reunion, the first time we are wronged by our teacher or parents, a time we have to choose between our consciences and our desires, and so on.
