I’m Jinfei Zhang and I think I’d be a great fit as a Mandarin Immersion Homeroom teacher at Presidio Knolls. After learning about the school and its vision as well as the job requirements, I wanted to write this letter to give you some background about myself.
I am a 2013 graduate of Valparaiso University where I graduated with my Master of Education degree with endorsement in Mandarin Chinese in addition to being a native speaker from northern China. My ability to build positive relationships with students and other educators as well as my teaching experience and modern teaching strategies will show me to be a great addition to Presidio Knolls.
After graduation I was fortunate enough to stay with New Prairie United School Corporation …show more content…
I have also worked directly with teaching teams to build and follow a curriculum for the school year and am active in volunteering for extra-curricular activities.
Recently I have also started a new position teaching heritage learners ranging in age from 6 to 11 at a local Chinese Christian Church. Interacting with their native speaker parents has been a whole new experience for me as they are very involved with their children’s learning, which is very encouraging.
I’ve really grown in my first two years of teaching and improved my skills greatly when it comes to classroom management, lesson planning, and keeping adolescent students actively engaged. My students no longer sit at their desks, listening to me lecturing and memorizing facts. Students in my classes learn while collaborating with their peers and practicing in group settings working towards clear objectives and authentic assessment; a teaching style I believe would fit in very well with the progressive approach at Presidio Knolls School. I look forward to discussing the position further with you; please contact me by phone or email with any further questions. Thanks for your time and
