THE INDUSTRY SITUATIONER Coffee Arabica grows well in the province. It grows well from 900 meters up to 1,800 meters above sea level. This variety commends the best taste and aroma among the other coffee varieties namely Robusta, Liberia and excelsa. In Mountain Province, the terrain, weather and altitude is very much suited to these two most common coffee varieties does production in to it – Arabica in the western part of Mountain Province and Robusta in the eastern area of the province. With the intervention of the Local Government Units and the promotion and marketing effort of the Department of Trade and Industry and several other national line agencies, the constituents are now realizing the value, the benefit and the profitability the coffee industry could bring to the people of Mountain Province.
