Valuing is knowing what social goods are relevant, good, and valuable. For example, tap dancers tap for fun not for money and social standings or social goods. Therefore, if you do not value the routes of tap dancing or the reasons why you are tap dancing the way you are then this experience will not bring you the laughter, enjoyment and fun it is supposed to. Knowing what is valuable in tap dancing also requires one to know what is believed about tap dancing. Tap dancing is the original form a street dancing. In the early 1900s “Tap dancers would gather on city street corners to trade steps and challenge one another” (Suzanne) as a form of entertainment. Tap was one of those communities that if you were beginning then you would go to one corner to dance with other beginner tap dancers. And When you thought you were ready, you could move to another corner and tap with other experienced dancers (Suzanne). However, tap once was a popular form of street dance anyone could do, it is now believe that tap dancing is being reborn/ revived thanks to the Dancers who help shape and mold this Discourse into what it is
