Van Gogh Letter

Reading information from the two sources has opened my eyes to what being a creator really is. Even the smallest choices a person makes can make them a creator. Many people have shown how they can be a creator but looking through the Van Gogh letters I see an ingenious person throughout the letters and the life he lived. An innovative person is “Willing to take a chance- to go out on a limb (S. I. Hayakawa, Page 1)” in many aspects of their lives. When taking a look at the Van Gogh letter he writes “I asked M. Peytron point-blank, since you are going to Paris, what would you say if I suggested that you be kind enough to take me with you (Van Gogh Letter 605, page2)” In this statement he really is just going out on a limb trying to move on to a new place. He took the chance to see if Mr. Peytron was willing to take him as well. When given the opportunity he took the chance to ask even if the answer might have been no. He just wanted a way to get away from where he was and thought it was worth a shot.

In one letter his states “Which we seek to confer by the actual radiance and vibrations of our colourings (Van Gogh letter 531, page 1).” He looks at everything in a different light and he sees the beauty in the world around him. He wants to be able to paint what he sees and not what everyone else views the world as. Van Gogh’s other letter states “One feels that the colours of the prism are veiled in the mists of the north (Van Gogh Letter 605, page 1)” He is saying that he sees all the different colors around him even if everyone else doesn’t. Reading everything about Hawakawa and Van Gogh has shown me that everyone looks at the world differently. Everyone views the world from a different point of view and that makes each person a different kind of creative in its own
